The JuJu Beans get mention on article of list of 20 greatest musicians from Oklahoma

I got an incredible message today from Chris Greer that said:

I Did a story on the 20 Greatest Okie Musicians in my magazine (Preview 918) for January issue. I included you in the musicians (as well as the JuJu Beans) in people to check out. Hope all is well with you. Let me know next time you’ll be up this way.

Here are links to the 20 Greatest Okie Musicians article:
The 20 Greatest Okie Musicians
It’s nearly impossible to pick only 20 of the best singers, songwriters and musicians in Oklahoma’s history. No matter how a list like this is pared down, it can’t really capture all the talent and diversity that has made Oklahoma such a wonderful melting pot of sounds. But we gave it our best shot. Let the debates begin. Article is here. Digital version here.

Magazines are available at over 600 locations throughout the 918 area including QuikTrip and Reasor’s.

New Shows Booked!!! Thunder Horse on the rise!!!

We’ve booked a few January shows in Texas, so please see the upcoming shows page. We’re playing with The Joey C. Jones Band,  Uncle Dave’s longtime friend and former singer of the bands Orange Helicopter and Crabtree. The Joey C. Jones Band are a great heavy psychedelic / rock type thing.

Thanks to The Damone’s, The Killings, as well as The Blue Note and Matt Kirk for having us.

In other news, make sure you check out our friends at KHOWL radiostation in Altus, Ok, playing some JuJu Beans and Uncle Dave’s Rock Service (Uncle Dave’s side recording project). Give them a shout and request some songs!

Last but not least, check out Uncle Dave’s new doom rock project Thunder Horse. Thunder Horse is: Bishop – Vox, guitar; Bird – Guitar; Shakes – drums; Uncle Dave – 12-string bass. This is a project with 3 great players, and Uncle Dave.
